Senior Systems Engineer - RMA
Key Responsibilities
- Apply systems engineering principles to plan, integrate, test, study and evaluate the performance of complex operational systems supporting launch operations.
- Conduct predictive reliability assessments for developmental efforts and analyze historical reliability metrics trends for LTRS systems under sustainment to gain insight into existing or emerging sustainment concerns, to assess potential risks to operational readiness and to prepare summary reports for the USSF Customer.
- Develop RMA models to provide current mission reliability and maintainability predictions for LTRS systems in various support scenarios and mission configurations to assist in the development of sustainment and modification planning focused on the mitigation of operational risk.
- Interpret and decompose LTRS mission, safety, and performance requirements into actionable technical expectations.
- Support interface definition and management across multiple subsystems, contractors, and government stakeholders.
- Identify and communicate technical risks, impacts, and mitigation strategies to engineering leadership and customers.
- Support configuration and change control processes, including technical impact assessments and baseline management.
- Analyze technical data, test results, and operational metrics to inform readiness and decision-making.
- Effective collaboration across disciplines and organizations to resolve technical issues and support mission execution.
- Flexible support to multiple subsystems and engineering functions as workload shifts across the LTRS enterprise.
Core Skills And Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Systems, Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering) or related STEM discipline
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering
- Experience working in aerospace systems engineering, integration, or test environment, preferably related to the LTRS
- Strong understanding of RMA concepts and technical analysis for development and sustainment, reliability modeling, requirements management, interface coordination and system integration concepts
- Familiarity with aerospace maintenance and trending analysis, verification and validation methods and test lifecycle activities
- Experience assessing and communicating technical risk in a clear, structured manner
- Experience working in configuration-controlled environments
- Strong technical writing and communication skills
- Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, multi-stakeholder environment
Desired Experience
- Experience supporting launch operations, range systems, aerospace, defense, or safety-critical systems
- Exposure to system-of-systems environments involving multiple organizations and authorities
- Experience with reliability block diagrams, systems performance trend analysis, CONOPS, operational test events, or readiness reviews
- Familiarity with digital engineering tools, modeling, and data-driven analysis
- Experience with Cameo preferred
Compensation Details
$125k-$135k
