About the Role
Berkley Technology Services (BTS) is seeking a dynamic Sr Systems Engineer with a strong background in Identity and Access Management (IAM) technologies. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in planning, architecture, and execution of IAM systems, serving as a liaison between the organization and key vendors. This role requires a proactive approach to problem resolution, project leadership, and mentoring technical staff.
Responsibilities
- Systems Planning and Implementation: Actively participate in the planning and implementation of IAM systems, infrastructure, and related hardware and software.
- Programming/Scripting: Perform system-level programming/scripting using Okta Expression Language (EL) and PowerShell.
- System Management: Handle configuration, integration, maintenance, performance management, security management, failure analysis, recovery, and user support.
- IAM Technology Deployment: Lead deployment projects for technologies like Okta, Auth0, and Microsoft Entra ID, ensuring compliance with security standards.
- API Management: Build, analyze, operate, and scale API management solutions to protect data and applications.
- Security Standards: Implement MFA, RBAC, fine-grained authorization, passwordless authentication, and B2B/B2C scenarios.
- Emerging Technologies: Research new IAM products, services, protocols, and standards.
- Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC): Develop and implement GRC strategies, conduct risk assessments, and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Vendor Liaison: Serve as a liaison to vendors like Okta, Auth0, and Microsoft for problem resolution.
- Project Leadership: Lead projects in collaboration with project managers, account managers, and customer teams.
- Mentorship: Mentor technical staff on IAM technologies and best practices.
- Policy Development: Develop and oversee policies for system provisioning and maintenance.
- Account Management: Manage end-user accounts, permissions, and access rights in compliance with regulations.
- ITIL Standards: Adhere to ITIL standards for incident, request, and change management.
- Documentation: Document problems, resolutions, platform configurations, and standards.
- Communication: Maintain excellent communication across functional technical areas.
- On-Call Rotation: Participate in the on-call rotation as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of IAM design, administration, and support experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience with Okta, Auth0, and Microsoft Entra ID.
- Ability to design IAM solutions aligned with Zero Trust, identity governance, and adaptive authentication.
- Strong understanding of SSO, SAML, OAuth/OIDC, MFA, RBAC, and fine-grained authorization.
- Experience in API management and data protection.
- Proficiency in JavaScript (Node.js preferred) and web security fundamentals.
- Knowledge of security frameworks like OWASP and NIST.
- Proficiency in scripting with Okta Expression Language (EL) and PowerShell.
- Experience with GRC strategies and risk assessments.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Ansible, GitHub, Terraform, and Jenkins.
- Experience in hybrid multi-cloud environments (Azure, AWS).
- Ability to work irregular hours and participate in on-call rotation.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (equivalent experience considered).
- Relevant certifications (Okta Certified Professional, CISSP, Microsoft SC-300) highly preferred.
Pay
Base Salary Range: $107,000-$198,000
