About the role
SAIC has an opening for a Senior Systems Engineer who will grow with the company as we expand our support in the modernization and development of various torpedo test equipment hardware designs.
Responsibilities
- Lead systems engineering efforts on multiple projects involving customer interface to define key requirements.
- Work with the design team to prepare documentation for all necessary Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) events.
- Ensure project alignment with the full systems lifecycle concept, design, integration, verification, validation, and transition to production.
- Work in a multidisciplinary team of Engineers, Analysts, and Technicians on the modernization and development of various Navy Automated Test Equipment (ATE) designs.
- Support in-person interactions with customers at local Naval research center in Newport, RI and occasionally at external customer sites.
Requirements
- B.S. in Systems Engineering, or a B.S in another engineering field with five (5) or more years direct experience working in a Systems Engineering capacity.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain SECRET level clearance.
Qualifications
- Five (5) or more years of experience, or a B.S in another engineering field with five (5) or more years direct experience working in a Systems Engineering capacity.
- Experience with SRRs, SFRs, SSRs, PDRs, CDRs, TRRs, PRRs, and PCAs.
- Demonstrated use of formal Project Management and/or Systems Engineering practices.
- Knowledge and understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Experience with National Instrument’s hardware and software systems or other data acquisition systems.
- Project management experience.
