Senior Systems Engineer

Position Description

Defense is looking for a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join their team. This role involves utilizing expertise in mission/software assurance, system architecture, and interface design to ensure the reliability, security, and quality of hardware/software systems.

Responsibilities

• Participate in hardware/software engineering activities including mission/software assurance, code reviews, static analysis, testing, and engineering reviews to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
• Provide input to programs on software architectures that are scalable, secure, and maintainable.
• Identify and mitigate risks related to software quality, security, and performance.
• Ensure hardware/software engineering/assurance processes are acceptable and reports are assessed.
• Provide technical guidance assessing objective evidence for hardware/software engineering.
• Collaborate with platform engineers, product leads, mission users, and government leadership to ensure AI efforts remain technically grounded and operationally relevant.
• Stay current on rapid changes in the AI ecosystem and provide informed recommendations on emerging tools and practices.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, or related field with 12+ years of related professional experience.
• Active DoD Secret security clearance, which requires US Citizenship.
• Extensive experience in hardware/software engineering processes.
• Extensive experience in hardware/software assurance processes.
• Experience assessing objective evidence for hardware/software engineering.
• Professional communications and organization skills.
