ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- System Ownership & Architecture
- Own the end-to-end architecture, design, and technical roadmap for CCTV and access control systems.
- Define system standards, reference architectures, and deployment models across all sites.
- Ensure high availability, scalability, and resilience of security platforms.
- Lead technical decision-making for new solutions, upgrades, and integrations.
- Design and maintain system architectures that enforce network segmentation and define security boundaries for CCTV and access control systems handling sensitive environments (CUI zones, restricted areas).
- Architect and enforce identity, authentication, and access control models for physical security systems, including role-based access, secure remote administration, and integration with enterprise identity providers.
- Define monitoring, logging, and audit architecture for CCTV and access control systems to support incident detection, forensic investigation, and CMMC audit & accountability requirements.
- Recommend and maintain 3rd party relationships that help support these systems and foster the ongoing partnerships to make sure they continue to provide setups that satisfy certification requirements that include government required certifications.
- Travel to job sites and locations to audit and ensure setup.
- Lifecycle Management
- Own the full lifecycle of physical security systems including design, procurement, deployment, maintenance, and retirement.
- Maintain and manage asset inventory for cameras, servers, storage, and access control hardware.
- Develop and execute refresh strategies for hardware and software platforms.
- Partner with leadership on budget planning, forecasting, and lifecycle investments.
- Systems Administration
- Administer enterprise access control systems including provisioning, modification, and revocation of badge access.
- Conduct periodic access reviews, audits, and compliance validations.
- Maintain role-based access control models aligned with corporate security policies.
- Generate reports and maintain audit/compliance logs.
- CCTV / Video Surveillance Management
- Maintain and monitor CCTV/VMS platforms to ensure system uptime and performance.
- Configure cameras, recording policies, retention schedules, and system parameters.
- Perform firmware updates, patching, and system health monitoring.
- Support incident response activities including video retrieval and forensic analysis.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or another related field.
- Seven (7) years of experience in physical security systems, infrastructure, or related engineering roles.
- Additional experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees or customers.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
