About the role

Raytheon’s Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) team is seeking a Systems Engineer who also serves as an Agile Product Owner. This role combines strong systems engineering fundamentals with software engineering, requirements management, and Agile team leadership to develop and test next-generation optical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Agile Product Owner for a cross-functional engineering team.
  • Translate stakeholder needs into clear user stories, features, and system-level requirements.
  • Lead requirements development, decomposition, traceability, and V&V planning.
  • Coordinate across software, systems, hardware, and test engineering teams.
  • Support system integration, troubleshooting, and performance analysis.
  • Conduct technical trade studies and contribute to architecture decisions.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies and maintain the product backlog.
  • Present technical status and risks to leadership and customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
  • Minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience in systems and software engineering.
  • Agile development experience.
  • Experience with system hardware/software integration.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Active DoD Secret clearance.
  • Prior Product Owner or Agile leadership experience.
  • Experience with defense-related systems engineering.
  • Experience with DOORS/DNG, Cameo, Jira, Confluence, or similar tools.
  • Proficiency with C++, Python, or similar programming languages.
  • Experience with modeling, simulation, or performance analysis.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $86,800 – $165,200 USD. The range is representative of all experience levels and considers factors such as role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
