About the role
HII - Mission Technologies is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our Fort Meade, MD team. This role supports a multi-national initiative that connects existing national Secret networks and services to enhance information-sharing capabilities among Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
Responsibilities
- Manages, patches, implements, and optimizes Nutanix, Active Directory, Microsoft technologies, VMware, and storage infrastructure.
- Delivers a secure, fault-tolerant, scalable, and flexible hyper-converged infrastructure to support real-world operations.
- Trains and coordinates implementations with internal staff and vendor personnel.
- Supports troubleshooting issues related to the specified technologies and backup systems.
Requirements
- Excellent Problem-Solving Capabilities
- Demonstrated success working in small teams to address complex technical challenges.
- Strong Linux Experience and Expertise
- Strong Windows Server Experience
- Programming Expertise
- Experience with multiple programming and scripting languages.
- Strong experience with C#, PowerShell, and Bash.
- Familiarity with web-based applications, ideally running under Tomcat.
- Solid understanding of programming best practices, object-oriented concepts, and common design patterns.
- Database Working Knowledge
- Experience with basic SQL.
- Preferred familiarity with MySQL.
- Experience with database replication is a plus.
- Some Architecture Background
- Familiarity with DoDAF diagramming methods.
- Ability to document current and proposed system architectures clearly and accurately.
Qualifications
- 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.
- Active DoD 8140 certifications (Sec+, CYSA+, etc.).
- Active Secret clearance (minimum).
- Willingness to work on-site at the Ft. Meade DISA facility.
- Experience working with VMware environments.
- Experience applying STIGs to servers.
- Exposure to Tenable vulnerability-scanning products.
