GDIT is seeking a Windows Systems Administrator with an active TS/SCI eligible clearance for a position in Arlington, VA. This role supports a small office (under 100 personnel) and requires Tier 1-3 system administration skills, along with other duties as assigned. The position is part of a dispersed team providing remote helpdesk support in an Active Directory mixed physical/virtual environment. Essential personnel status may require recall with little or no advance notice.

About the Role

This position provides direct infrastructure support on-site and administers Defense Information Security Agency (DISA) networks. Work is primarily conducted during normal business hours but may occasionally require after-hours, weekend, or local/CONUS travel.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier I, II, and III system administration support.
  • Monitor authentication, email, file/print servers for errors.
  • Perform customer service tasks such as resetting, enabling, archiving, or unlocking accounts.
  • Set up workstations for new employees and assist users with scanning and printing.
  • Maintain computer hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
  • Create, disable, or archive user accounts according to approved requests.
  • Maintain Active Directory accounts, groups, and permissions.
  • Provide VTC support on multiple networks as needed.
  • Assist with accounting for systems on IT hand receipt.
  • Report network outages and monitor trouble tickets.
  • Complete WSUS updates and re-image desktops/laptops as needed.
  • Update accountability of office systems at dispersed sites.
  • Update software on deployable laptops and test new desktop images for functionality prior to deployment.
  • Assist with installation of network cabling.

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows 2016 Server, Microsoft Exchange Server 2016, and Microsoft Windows 10 OS administration and associated hardware.
  • Working knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies, data backup technologies, and COMSEC integration (preferred).
  • Familiarity with security policy/manuals and other guiding policy documents.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and interact effectively with DOD, military/civilian personnel, and industry partners.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • High degree of originality, creativity, and initiative with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance eligibility required to start.
  • Security+ certification required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

Pay

The likely salary range for this position is $93,662 – $115,000, depending on experience, geographic location, and contractual requirements.

Schedule

  • Full-time, 40 scheduled weekly hours.
  • Primarily normal business hours, with occasional after-hours, weekend, or on-call work.
  • Onsite work location in Arlington, VA.
