Senior System Safety Engineer
Basic Qualifications
Demonstrated knowledge and application of system safety design and operations safety principles to include experience with one or all of the following: hazard identification, analysis, risk mitigation, safety requirements management, and associated deliverable documentation.
Effective communication skills with the ability to engage and interact in group meeting/working environments with team members, development, organizations and customers.
US Citizenship with the ability to obtain a Top Secret Clearance.
Responsibilities
- Review, track, and assess hardware and software changes for hazard impacts
- Develop and update hazard analysis products, including System Hazard Analyses and Safety Assessment Reports on equipment and facilities
- Prepare presentations and participate in Design Reviews, Test Readiness Reviews, Technical Interchange Meetings, and various working groups and safety review meetings
- Support the development and updating of System Safety documents to support Customer and Range Safety contractual requirements
- Collaborate with customer safety counterparts and support weapon systems working groups
Qualifications
- Experience using MIL-STD-882E, or other relevant industry and/or safety standards
- Experience developing Safety Assessment Report (SAR), and/or other system safety assessment documentation
- Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
Skills
- Experience with weapons systems, U.S. Army or Navy customers
- Experience with safety requirements, ordnance, and software

Schedule
Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
