Senior System Analyst, Policy Admin

About the Role

The Senior System Analyst will serve as a subject matter expert in defining, analyzing, and validating processes within the Policy Administration System (FAST).

Responsibilities

• Analyze insurance system components, recommend modernization strategies, and implement improvements.
• Conduct requirement analysis for annuity product changes, and coordinate with application configurator to design and develop insurance products for Aspida.
• Collaborate with the application vendor to identify required changes and document/design the implementation plan.
• Analyze data feeds, diagnose the root cause of issues, and resolve problems related to application data.
• Work closely with application developers and product owners across teams to implement product solutions.
• Serve as the expert and primary point of contact for production issues impacting your system(s).
• Create training materials (SOPs) and assist end users with new functionality.
• Create process flows and assess potential enhancements for business procedures.
• Maintain high-quality documentation for system updates.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with major coursework in computer information systems and technologies.
• 6+ years of progressive experience in system and data analysis, and understanding of database and application components, including web services.
• 2+ years of experience with an insurance administrative platform.
• Experience in translating business requirements into technical solutions.
• Critical thinking and decision making in uncertainty.
• Strong verbal and written communications.
• Strong interpersonal relations, management, and supervisory skills.
• Strong background in the support of applications used in the insurance domain.
• Ability to thrive under pressure and manage concurrent and conflicting priorities and deadlines.
• Organize, prioritize, and track tasks, requests, and projects effectively.
• Establish, maintain, and foster positive, productive relationships.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with Policy Administration Systems and insurance products—particularly annuities.
• Prior experience as a Business Systems Analyst or a similar position within an IT function.
• Onsite 3 days a week at our Durham, NC headquarters.
