Senior System Administrator (SCADA)

Responsibilities

• Maintain currency with latest trends in automation designs and equipment for the Gas industry.
• Troubleshoot SCADA software and server issues.
• Work closely with Field Technicians to configure, test, and troubleshoot data polling from the SCADA System to field RTUs.
• Work with Gas Control operators to make sure the SCADA system is always providing them the ability to safely operate the pipeline.
• Program wireless modems (Sierra Wireless and Digi).
• Build, configure, and maintain reports.
• Document changes, obtain required approvals, and submit changes.

Qualifications

• In-depth working knowledge of SCADA fundamentals as they apply to the utility space.
• Ability to write simple scripts and SQL queries.
• Ability to work independently and exercise good judgement in a small team environment.
• Fluent in all aspects of SCADA System including: Aveva Enterprise SCADA (formerly OASyS DNA), Baseline Platform HMI Display Development, Realtime Database Implementation, Historical Database Data Interfaces and Reports, Gas Measurement Metering, In-depth Knowledge of RTU / PLC protocol (Modbus, DNP3, BSAP), Realtime database implementation, Troubleshoot SCADA software and server issues, Work closely with Field Technicians to configure, test, and troubleshoot data polling from the SCADA System to field RTUs.
• Preferred Skills: Ability to intrepid, modify and write scripts and SQL queries, Clear communications to enable close coordination with Gas Control operators to ensure the SCADA system is always providing them the ability to safely operate the pipeline, Control room experience, Experience in regulated operating environments, Experience with building, configuring, developing and maintaining reports, Knowledge of Cybersecurity Principles, Knowledge of IT principles and Technology, Knowledge of related utility industry field operations, Process documentation development skills capture workflows, changes, change approvals, change submission, Programming of wireless modems (Sierra Wireless and Digi etc.).
