Duties And Responsibilities
- Own NinjaOne RMM and Microsoft Intune as the technical lead: policy design, configuration profiles, compliance policies, and tenant hygiene.
- Design and operate the patching program for workstations and servers — patch rings, maintenance windows, pilot testing, rollback, and reporting against defined patching goals.
- Own Windows Autopilot provisioning and the standard device baseline, including application packaging and deployment.
- Build the automation layer: PowerShell, RMM scripted remediations, and scheduled routines that resolve common conditions without human involvement.
- Instrument the fleet — monitor system health, performance, capacity, and configuration drift across servers, desktops, and cloud services, with reporting that drives action.
- Drive configuration standards and consistency so junior admins can manage systems confidently and end users get a predictable experience.
- Advanced administration of workstations, servers, and cloud infrastructure.
- Lead administration of enterprise applications and services (Entra ID, Microsoft 365, DNS) and other SaaS platforms, establishing standards for the support tiers to follow.
- Contribute to availability and disaster recovery readiness: auditing systems and backups, defining recovery processes, and developing and testing per-service runbooks.
- Develop security processes and documentation to support new security policies for a growing organization implementing ISO 27001.
- Help oversee managed network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, and Wi-Fi.
- Enforce and update security policies and compliance controls, using automation to report on posture and assist remediation.
- Serve as the escalation point for complex issues beyond the capabilities of junior admins, providing advanced troubleshooting across software, hardware, and network.
- Partner with our managed service provider to drive continuous alignment on policy, standards, and SLA performance.
- Participate in IT infrastructure projects — migrations, cloud adoption, hardware and software upgrades — including developing and executing project plans.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align technical work with business needs.
- Mentor junior team members, and build the tooling, standards, and documentation that push resolution down to Tier 1.
- Participate in a limited emergency on-call rotation.
Education And/Or Work Experience Required
- 5+ years in systems administration, including 2+ years owning endpoint management at scale.
- RMM – Automation/scripting, Patching, software deployment
- Team player with positive attitude and sense of urgency.
- Through documentation skills
- Be able to work independently and stay on task.
- Network fundamentals, subnetting, basic network services, DNS, DHCP.
- Deeper knowledge of M365 including Security, O365, Intune, MFA, Defender, Teams Voice, SSO, Security practices.
- Customer service and Communication skills
- Experience with Azure joined workforce heavily leveraging SaaS applications
- Expert level problem solving skills
- Network fundamentals, DNS, DHCP, IP Subnetting, VLANS, VPN tunnels, client, hardware
- Backup systems and practices
- Working with MSP to continuously drive alignment on policies and SLA
- General VOIP Administration
- Ability to scope, and execute smaller projects
- Shape and develop IT systems for other team members to use
- Develop documentation for IT support and security related practices.
- Limited travel to remote offices
Physical Requirements
- Safely and successfully performs the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
