Senior Sustainability Engineer

About the role

The Senior Sustainability Engineer will support the sustainability efforts of the Skanska USA Building. They will work with the project team to educate them on their project responsibilities and ensure proper tracking and documentation of sustainability goals towards certification-based efforts. Additionally, they will lead the collection and reporting of carbon data, coach junior Sustainability Engineers, and support training and research for the Green Project Solutions team.

Responsibilities

• Educate project teams on sustainability responsibilities and green building strategies
• Ensure proper tracking and documentation of sustainability goals towards certification-based efforts
• Lead the collection and reporting of carbon data
• Coach junior Sustainability Engineers and project teams on reduction tactics
• Support training and research for the Green Project Solutions team
• Assist in the success of junior Sustainability Engineers

Requirements

• 4+ years of building construction or sustainability-related experience
• 3+ years of experience with the LEED certification process for a minimum of two building projects
• 1+ years of experience benchmarking used in carbon emissions tracking concerning construction processes
• 1+ years of experience applying common terminology used in LEED and other certification programs
• 1+ years of experience creating forms, templates, and meeting materials
• Bachelor’s Degree – Business Administration, Public Administration, Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Urban Planning, Architecture, or another job-related field or 6 years equivalent experience plus a minimum of 4 years prior relevant experience
