Senior Supplier Sourcing Engineer, Intelligence Systems (Active Clearance)

About the role

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company focused on transforming military capabilities through advanced technology. The Senior Supplier Sourcing Engineer for Intelligence Systems (internally known as Senior Product Sourcing Engineer) plays a crucial role in developing and managing the supply network for Anduril’s product hardware across its lifecycles.

Responsibilities

• Deep dive into engineering Bill of Material (BOM), ensuring parts can be sourced and procured at a reasonable target level
• Conduct supplier selection for specific products, working with approved supplier lists and onboarding unique vendors
• Drive on-time delivery by finding unique solutions to reduce traditional Space industry lead times and supply constraints
• Partner with strategic suppliers to accelerate product development through activities like concept scoping, feature trade-offs, should cost/clean sheet models, joint design development, simulation of mechanical & electronics designs
• Manage total cost of the program, including New Product Introduction (NPI) and mass production throughout NPI
• Complete value-stream mapping to optimize supply network lead time and flexibility
• Conduct BOM risk assessment, including alternate component sourcing
• Ensure completion of all component qualifications ahead of production
• Reduce complexity: commonality optimization & component/supplier rationalization
• Lead all cost engineering activities to converge the bottoms-up cost curve to product cost, maximizing total cost of ownership (TCO) across the product lifecycle
• Manage ad-hoc cost issues such as tariffs / import/export costs, and cost inflation
• Manage supply issues to ensure on-time delivery at or below target cost

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other technical field
• 6+ years of experience in sourcing engineering, supplier engagement and development, or design of electronics and/or mechanical devices
• Active U.S. Secret or TS clearance and ability to maintain clearance
• Ability to travel 10% - 40% of the time, variable based on program needs
• Ability to relocate, if not already local to be onsite in Reston, VA

Priorities

• Master's degree or advanced technical degree
• Deeper experience in design & development of electronics and/or mechanical devices
• Advanced sourcing activities, including stints as commodity/sourcing managers
• Supplier development (technology, process, supply chain, etc.)
• Early supplier engagement, ahead of product/engineering requirement realization
• Familiarity with high-tech products in a high-mix, low-volume environment
• Experience in a fast-paced, start-up environment
• Direct experience in the Space industry
• Experience negotiating and managing commercial subcontracts

Salary Range

$146,000 - $194,000 USD
