About the Role

The Senior Supplier Quality Engineer at VulcanForms will be responsible for securing supplies and parts for the production facility, reviewing engineering and manufacturing specifications, communicating material and manufacturing specifications to suppliers, and resolving quality issues. Additionally, this role will focus on customer complaint intake and analysis, supplier data trending, and supplier qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Represents Quality function on team activities to integrate contractual and VulcanForms Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation.
  • Drives supplier quality performance, including new product development and product quality improvement.
  • Provides Quality interpretation of requirements. Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans to ensure compliance with contractual, Company, Customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Conducts capability assessments and process validations to support supplier selection activities.
  • Maintains Supplier and Customer quality records.
  • Supports suppliers in the execution and verification of effectiveness of supplier corrective actions.
  • Acts as a lead auditor for onsite and remote audits to assess supplier qualification.
  • Regularly participates or owns writing and updating QMS documentation.
  • Participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs.
  • Performs analysis, tests and process audits to ensure manufacturing readiness.
  • Provides material review dispositions for non-conformances.
  • Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Recommends corrective actions to address non-conformances.
  • Lead investigator for all supplier caused nonconformities.
  • Travels to suppliers for qualification, development, and onsite inspection as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 3+ years equivalent experience in a medical device or aerospace environment.
  • 3+ years of experience in a quality job role and 1+ years of experience gathering data and performing a Root Cause Corrective Action.
  • Experience in an aerospace, medical device, or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in Quality Management Systems (QMS) within a Supplier Quality organization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience interfacing and presenting to senior and executive leadership.
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Experience working closely with other engineering disciplines in an integrated team environment.
  • Experience with regulatory requirements.
  • Experience reviewing contracts, managing suppliers, and/or experience working with inventory.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Auditing accreditation to ASD9100 or ISO13485.

Pay

The annual base salary range for this position is $105,400 to $145,000.
