About the role
The Senior Supplier Quality Surveillance Engineer supports Procurement in implementing and executing Supplier Quality Inspections and audits. This role ensures that materials and equipment meet or exceed customer and contract quality and workmanship expectations.
Responsibilities
- Perform quality assurance and quality control shop inspections and audits
- Aid in ensuring subcontracts or corporate agreements meet Rosendin Procurement quality standards and customer expectations
- Read and understand equipment specifications, drawings, and provide feedback on recommended supplier testing and inspections
- Communicate inspection and audit results verbally and in writing, recommending necessary corrective actions
- Assist in supplier/subcontractor prequalification by performing audits/assessments
- Oversee fabricator and subcontractor quality as needed
- Review Supplier/Subcontractor Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) and develop corrective action plans
- Coordinate with Quality Managers to approve final disposition and sign off NCR's
- Provide input to Rosendin Procurement on supplier/subcontractor quality performance ratings
- Lead pre-fabrication meetings, create checklists, and write inspection/audit reports
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Broad working knowledge of design/craft disciplines and engineered equipment/materials associated with renewable energy and electrical projects
- Familiarity with electrical procurement and vendor surveillance procedures
- Working knowledge of construction industry codes and standards such as IEEE, IECC, NEC, NFPA, NESC, IBC, IFC, etc.
- Detail-oriented and effective time management and organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Team player capable of working independently and meeting intense deadlines
Qualifications
- 7+ years of professional supplier experience
- 5+ years of professional supplier quality experience and a 2-year associate’s degree in electrical technology
- 3+ years of professional supplier quality experience and a 4-year bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
- API SIEE Certification preferred
- ISO 9001 Lead Auditor Certification preferred
