Senior Superintendent I

Summary

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Senior Superintendent I to manage construction activities and supervise teams for various projects.

Responsibilities

• Overall management of construction activities and task assignments
• Interface with other departments to ensure project requirements are met
• Budget, forecast, and manage project resources including labor, equipment, materials, and tools
• Review and clarify construction documents for completeness and feasibility
• Create and update project schedules and conduct weekly reviews
• Coordinate with engineers and resolve discrepancies in plans and specifications
• Develop and implement site utilization plans and crew size strategies
• Select formwork systems and oversee their installation
• Conduct pre-construction planning sessions and site meetings
• Oversight and supervision of work crews
• Coach, mentor, and train field personnel
• Ensure crews have necessary resources and support
• Provide work direction and conduct performance evaluations
• Identify hiring needs and participate in hiring, performance management, and dismissal decisions
• Develop leadership potential through task assignments and career growth opportunities
• Implement Mortenson's Zero Injury Safety Program
• Manage open shop and union issues
• Maintain relationships with visitors to the site
• Manage site work and logistics efficiently
• Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management, or 10 years trade experience
• Minimum 15 years of construction experience
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in a supervisory role
• Experience with solar or overseeing large industrial power projects
• Proven ability to manage multiple, complex projects
• Detail-oriented to organize and manage multiple project tasks
• Possess basic understanding of construction law and business practices
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Positive and professional attitude with strong customer service skills
• Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies
• Current driver’s license
• Ability to travel up to 100%

Pay Range

The base pay range for this role is $144,300 - $216,500. Actual range varies based on location and may be higher for certain positions.
