About the role
We are seeking a Senior Summer Camp Counselor to positively impact the summer camp community and help children reach their full potential.
Responsibilities
- Supervise campers and plan camp activities.
- Actively participate in activities to encourage participation.
- Ensure all campers can participate in all activities, no matter varied abilities whether physical or intellectual.
- Able to identify, address, and redirect/correct inappropriate behavior.
- Able to ensure appropriate behavior of campers and staff to avoid the risk of accidents.
- Able to assist in maintaining effective communication with parents/guardians regarding camper and camp activities.
- Embody the GPY commitment to diversity and inclusion, no matter race, color, creed, or gender identification.
Requirements
- At least 18 years old.
- High school graduate or equivalent, or enrolled in a minimum of 2 years of child development coursework approved by state licensing requirements.
- Experience working with children and at least two seasons working as a Y Camp Counselor or as a counselor in a comparable program.

- Enthusiasm.

- Patience.
Skills
