Senior Substation Project Engineer

Temporary full-time position with an estimated duration of 4 months. Hybrid work model requiring onsite presence 2 days per week in Oakland, CA.
Responsibilities
- Manage large, complex projects and perform engineering analyses, studies, and develop conceptual designs.
- Lead, coach, direct, and assist technical employees and teams on technical issues; may act as an engineering mentor.
- Assist in finalizing contract project specifications and technical evaluation of contract project bids.
- Provide support to other departments in land, permitting, and legal issues.
- Resolve problems of complex scope using creative or non-standard approaches.
- Independently plan work to meet assigned general objectives with minimal review upon completion.
- Engage in external contacts with contractors, vendors, and local public agencies with ministerial authority.
- Collaborate internally with clients, project team members, and company management.
- Provide technical direction to less experienced team members.
- Deliver presentations, lead team meetings, and interpret industry practices and codes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited curriculum in the U.S. or equivalent from outside the U.S.
- 8 years of cumulative experience in electrical engineering and design.
- 5 years of experience in substation engineering.
- 5 years of experience in multiple large-scale, large-budget electric substation projects.
- Skilled in project management.
- Current California PE license (preferred).
Pay
Hourly rate range: $90.00 – $97.00.
