Careers Senior Substation Engineer - Physical (PE Required) Submit resume Overview The Senior Substation Engineer – Physical is responsible for serving as a senior technical authority and leader within the engineering organization. This role includes ownership of complex substation engineering projects, mentoring of technical staff, contribution to operational strategy, and support of business development initiatives. The P7 Engineer is expected to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams, drive technical innovation, and ensure technical excellence in deliverables and processes. Job Type: Full Time Location: North Olmsted, OH Schedule: Hybrid or Remote Pay Range: $130,000-170,000 Essential Duties & Responsibilities Serves as Technical Lead or Engineering Authority on complex, high-impact substation projects. Provides technical oversight across multiple projects and teams, ensuring alignment with industry standards and client expectations. Leads QA/QC initiatives and implement best practices to improve quality and consistency in engineering deliverables. Guides the development of project scopes, schedules, and fee estimates with a strategic understanding of risk and resource allocation. Directs and reviews advanced engineering work including Protection & Control Schemes, One-Line/Three-Line Diagrams, Physical Layouts, Grounding, and Conduit Designs. Leads coordination across disciplines, clients, and vendors, fostering strong working relationships and technical alignment. Mentors and trains engineers, designers, and drafters across experience levels; develop technical growth plans for junior staff. Evaluates complex technical issues, offering expert-level recommendations on design direction, code interpretation, and compliance exceptions. Collaborates with business development teams to support proposals, client engagement, and strategic project pursuits. Represents the company in external forums including standards committees, industry conferences, and client meetings. Champions the evolution of internal design standards, tools, and workflows to align with emerging technology and client needs. Provides high-level construction support, including field resolution of technical issues and oversight of engineering intent during construction. Participates in or leads internal initiatives related to continuous improvement, innovation, and digital delivery transformation. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree with specialization in the electrical discipline required. 10-15+ years of previous consulting or substation engineering/design experience required. Must have experience dealing with utilities and use of their standards. Ohio PE License required. MUST be a U.S. citizen or Green Card holder.
