Work Schedule: 12-month role Employee Type :Exempt Applicable To All Positions Performs such other duties, responsibilities, and activities as required by supervisor and as departmental/University needs indicate. Disclaimer ... (boilerplate). Then more boilerplate.
We need to remove boilerplate: cookie/navigation/legal/EEO/equal-opportunity/scam-warning, duplicated lines, application instructions. Also remove "Work Schedule: 12-month role Employee Type :Exempt" maybe that's schedule info? It says Work Schedule: 12-month role. That's schedule info. Also Employee Type: Exempt maybe not needed. But we can include schedule if present: "Work Schedule: 12-month role". That's specific. So we can have a Schedule section with that.
Pay: Not mentioned. Benefits: Not mentioned. So we should not include Pay or Benefits sections.
We need sections: About the role (maybe a summary), Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills. But we must only include sections if posting has real specific content. The posting includes Basic Function (about role), Essential Functions (responsibilities), Education, Certification, License, And Experience Requirements (requirements/qualifications), Knowledge And Skill Needed (skills). Also Unusual Work Conditions (maybe part of responsibilities or schedule). We'll map.
We need to avoid repeating job title as heading. Use for each section.
We need to use - for any list of duties/requirements/benefits, and
for prose.
We need to preserve all substantive information, not invent or summarize away detail. So we need to keep details like specific software (Terra Dotta), specific regulations (DHS, DOS, IRS, DMV, SSA), specific events (Accepted Students Day, Study Abroad Fair, First Friday, Majors/Minors Fair), etc.
We need to remove duplicated lines: there is a duplicated disclaimer block later; we should keep only one instance? The instruction: remove duplicated lines. So we should keep only one copy of the disclaimer? But disclaimer is boilerplate (legal/EEO). Actually the disclaimer is about general nature of work; it's likely boilerplate. The instruction says remove cookie/navigation/legal/EEO/equal-opportunity/scam-warning boilerplate. So we should remove the disclaimer entirely. Also the "All offers of employment are contingent upon a satisfactory background check." and EEO statement are boilerplate; remove.
Also remove "Load a resume or CV first..." etc (application instructions). Remove.
Thus we keep only substantive content: Basic Function, Unusual Work Conditions, Education, Experience, Knowledge And Skill Needed, Essential Functions (Study Abroad Advising, International Student Advising, Develops and Maintains Procedures, Represent Fairfield University...), Work Schedule.
We need to decide sections.
Potential sections:
- About the role: could combine Basic Function and maybe Unusual Work Conditions? But Better to have About the role as a brief summary: "Under the supervision of the AVP Global Strategy, this position provides support for study abroad programs and international student services." plus maybe location etc. But we must not invent. We can use the Basic Function paragraph as About the role.
- Responsibilities: could be Essential Functions (Study Abroad Advising, International Student Advising, Develops and Maintains Procedures, Represent Fairfield University at events). Also maybe Unusual Work Conditions (evenings/weekends, travel) could be part of Responsibilities or Schedule.
- Requirements: Education and Experience.
- Qualifications: maybe same as Requirements? But we can combine. However we need to avoid thin sections. Could have Requirements (education+experience) and Skills (knowledge and skill needed). Qualifications maybe not needed if we already have Requirements.
But the instruction says use headings for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule). So we can include those that have content.
We have content for About the role (Basic Function). Responsibilities (Essential Functions + Unusual Work Conditions). Requirements (Education, Experience). Skills (Knowledge And Skill Needed). Schedule (Work Schedule: 12-month role). Possibly Qualifications could be omitted if we already have Requirements; but we could treat Requirements as qualifications. However we need to avoid duplication. Let's decide:
- About the role: Basic Function paragraph.
- Responsibilities: Essential Functions (Study Abroad Advising, International Student Advising, Develops and Maintains Procedures, Represent Fairfield University at events) plus Unusual Work Conditions (Evenings and/or weekends to participate on campus events and occasional national business travel). We'll format as
- items.
- Requirements: Education and Experience. Could be
- for each.
- Skills: Knowledge And Skill Needed items (list). We'll format as
- .
- Schedule: Work Schedule: 12-month role. Could be
or
- . Since it's a single item, we can use
.
We must not include Benefits, Pay.
We must not repeat job title as heading.
We must not include metadata like Job ID, requisition numbers (none present). Location etc maybe we could include in About the role? But location is metadata; we could include as a short
maybe but instruction says fold minor metadata into a short
or drop it. We could include location in About the role paragraph? But we should not invent. Could add a short
after About the role: "Location: Fairfield, CT. Employment type: Full-time, Permanent." That's minor metadata. It's allowed to fold minor metadata into a short
. Let's do that.
But we must ensure we don't create sections with filler. We'll keep About the role as
About the role
then a containing Basic Function plus maybe location and employment type? However Basic Function is a paragraph; we can keep it as
. Then we can add another
for location and employment type? Might be considered minor metadata; we could combine.
Better: After About the role heading, we have a
with Basic Function. Then a
with "Location: Fairfield, CT. Employment type: Full-time, Permanent." That's minor metadata.
Now Responsibilities heading:
Responsibilities
then with items.
We need to extract each responsibility item from Essential Functions and Unusual Work Conditions.
Essential Functions includes multiple paragraphs; we can break into bullet points:
