Senior Structural Engineer/Project Manager, Hydraulic Structures

Responsibilities

• Lead in the preparation of complete project documents from design development reports through construction documents.
• Independently evaluate, select, and apply advanced structural design techniques, procedures, and criteria to projects.
• Effectively manage multi-discipline teams, assign tasks and direct other engineers, technicians, and administrative staff.
• Collect and analyze existing data by performing field investigations of existing structures and review of as-built plans and engineering reports to establish existing conditions and identify critical areas for design criteria.
• Identify project opportunities and assist with proposals to provide professional services for engineering projects or programs.
• Prepare scopes, budgets, and schedules for projects.
• Develop, manage, and maintain client relationships.
• Evaluate and manage planning, design, and construction support services for projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering from an accredited University.
• Master's degree in structural engineering preferred.
• 15+ years of structural design experience in water resource-related work.
• 10+ years of experience as a Project Manager preferred.
• PE License required; SE License preferred; NCEES registration preferred.
• Familiarity with Federal Agencies and/or Public Utilities.
• Proficient knowledge of relevant Industry and Agency Design Codes and Standards.
• Design-Build and/or Construction Experience (preferred).
• Demonstrated working knowledge and experience with structural analysis software, specifically seismic analysis procedures.
• Experience with structural refurbishment, repair, seismic upgrades, and alterations of concrete structures, hydro power facilities, or hydraulic steel structures.
• Demonstrated industry expertise and knowledge of principles and practices related to hydro and hydro power projects.
• Travel may be required (15% of the time).
• Regular, predictable attendance is required.
• Ability to get along and work effectively with others.

Pay

Pay Range: $138,000 - $206,000 (DOE)
