About the role

The Analytics department at MTU Aero Engines North America works with state-of-the-art analysis tools and methods to ensure flight safety. This position offers exposure to and collaboration with discipline experts at MTU Aero Engines AG, as well as opportunities to contribute to the advancement of standard processes and tools. The candidate will perform, delegate, and review structural analysis on aircraft engine components in Low Pressure Turbines, High Pressure Compressors, and Turbine Center Frames, with a focus on optimization to reduce fuel consumption, CO₂ emissions, and contrail formation.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize engineering applications of Strength, Fatigue, Crack Propagation, Creep, Vibration, HCF, and other topics in Materials and Solid Mechanics.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Abaqus, Hypermesh, Python, or equivalent software packages.
  • Apply independent thinking to advance state-of-the-art analysis tools and procedures.
  • Exhibit leadership skills to instruct, delegate, or coordinate analysis work.
  • Occasional international travel may be required (1–2 times per year).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • 7+ years of related experience.
  • Experience in delegation and technical review.
  • Advanced knowledge of 3D non-linear Finite Element Analysis and theory.
  • Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
