About the role
TYLin's Buildings team brings creativity and technical excellence to new and existing buildings worldwide. Our primary service is structural engineering for buildings, including new construction, renovation, adaptive reuse, and historic preservation. We also offer expertise in architectural services, code consulting, façade engineering, lightweight structures, and construction support services.
We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Buildings team in NYC.
Responsibilities
- Structural design and analysis for a wide range of building projects, involving steel, concrete, masonry, wood, and archaic building systems.
- Assist in the preparation of drawings and specifications.
- Conduct site investigations to document existing conditions.
- Project management of staff and clients.
- Provide mentoring and guidance to junior staff.
- Maintain involvement in professional organizations to stay updated on industry developments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering.
- Master’s Degree would be considered an asset.
- P.E. or S.E. license would be considered an asset.
- 6-10 years of experience in residential, commercial, or institutional building projects as a Structural Engineer; experience with private residential projects preferred.
- Proficiency with computer analysis software (e.g., RISA, SAP, RAM).
- Working knowledge of REVIT.
- Experience in historic building preservation would be considered an asset.

Pay
Base compensation range of $104,000–$116,000 annually for this position, adjusted for local market. Final offers reflect each candidate’s unique skills, experience, education, and competencies.
