Senior Structural Engineer

This full-time, permanent role is based in the NJ/NYC area, focusing on heavy civil projects in the tri-state region.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan, and oversee the construction of structural components of projects, ensuring they meet all safety and quality standards.
• Collaborate with architects, construction managers, and other engineers to determine project specifications.
• Conduct site investigations to gather data for planning and design.
• Prepare technical reports, designs, and drawings using AutoCAD 3D.
• Perform geotechnical analysis and foundation design.
• Ensure all projects comply with relevant building codes, regulations, and laws.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and other members of the engineering team.
• Perform risk management and mitigation activities to minimize potential project delays or cost overruns.
• Participate in project meetings and provide updates on progress, challenges, and solutions.
• Continuously update knowledge and expertise in structural engineering and construction methodologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. A Master’s degree is preferred.
• Professional Engineering (P.E.) license is required; New York, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey licenses are strongly preferred.
• Engineer-In-Training (EIT) or equivalent certification is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction industry, specifically in structural engineering.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD 3D and other relevant engineering software.
• Strong knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles and practices.

Pay

$100,000 - $175,000 per year
