Senior Structural Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Structural Engineering team within a growing multidisciplinary practice. This role can be based in our Seattle, Los Angeles, Houston, Dallas, or Austin office and involves designing a variety of building projects across multiple geographies.

You’ll work with highly respected engineers and specialists on significant projects across diverse markets, including arts and culture, science, industry, technology, property, and healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and design structural elements and systems for steel, concrete, timber, and masonry buildings in accordance with building codes and design standards.
• Perform lateral analyses of structures for seismic and wind loading.
• Prepare and review drawings detailing the systems designed.
• Complete design calculations for structural systems for permit submittals.
• Coordinate work with engineers of other disciplines, architectural teams, and contractors.
• Review submittals prepared by contractors and respond to requests for information.
• Perform construction site visits to observe progress.
• Communicate structural engineering designs to clients and other stakeholders.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering with a sound knowledge of structural engineering fundamentals as they relate to building systems.
• 7+ years of related experience in structural design and engineering.
• Interest and experience in Data Center Design and/or Rail market are preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of general analysis and seismic design software (ETABS, SAFE, SAP, etc.).
• Strong communication skills and excellent planning and organizational abilities.
• Highly motivated, proactive, and willing to tackle new challenges.
• PE license required; SE license preferred.

Pay

The good faith base salary hiring range for this role in Seattle is $112,000 to $129,000 per year, commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Hiring ranges for candidates outside of Los Angeles will differ.
