About the role
Stantec is seeking a Senior Structural Design Manager with 15+ years of bridge design and transportation project delivery experience. The position is flexible between our Burlington and Boston, MA offices and hybrid work.
Responsibilities
- Serve as Stantec’s Southern New England Structural Team Lead
- Contribute to initiatives to help advance our project design, operations, and business development
- Maintain and enhance our reputation with clients, approval agencies and industry professionals as an outstanding service provider
- Establish project objectives, procedures, and performance standards
- Lead multi-disciplinary teams on projects from positioning to proposals, planning studies, feasibility through final designs, and construction services
- Represent Stantec and the project design team as a technical leader
- Identify appropriate resources and skill sets to achieve project objectives
- Manage contract tasks, track, and manage costs and schedule, and implement measures necessary to stay on schedule and within budget
- Lead by example with active support of internal policies and practices, including risk management, project management, and quality management
- Grow internal and external networks to enhance Stantec reputation and identify additional talent to join our team
- Develop client relationships to facilitate project activities
- Leads, mentors, and develops team members through coaching, performance oversight, and ongoing professional growth support
Requirements
- Experience with the role of deputy design manager, design manager, and or quality manager on mid to large scale projects
- Experience leading the design and construction support of complex transportation projects
- Experience developing, negotiating, and managing project scopes, schedules, and budgets
- Business development experience required
- Marketing skills required
- Ability to lead, motivate, mentor, and develop a team of technical and professional staff
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues in a dynamic and energetic environment
- Design-Build or other alternative project delivery experience
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or related field
- Postgraduate degree preferred
- MA Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
- Minimum of fifteen (15) years of progressive engineering and project management experience with bridge design and transportation project delivery

Pay
$151,700.00 - $227,600.00 Annually
