Senior Structural (Bridge) Engineer

Responsibilities

• Manages the structural elements on design and design-build projects.
• Sets tasks for engineers and provides technical assistance and guidance.
• Mentors, coaches, and directs staff engineers.
• Performs structural analysis and develops structures designs, construction plans, cost estimates, reports, and technical specifications.
• Aids in the preparation of project schedules and budgets.
• Conducts QC reviews of design documentation and plans prepared by staff engineers and other consultants.
• Coordinates with clients, subconsultants, and design-build contractors.

Requirements

• BS in Civil Engineering (with an emphasis on Structural Engineering preferred).
• 10+ years of experience working on bridge transportation projects.
• VA Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• Design-Build experience is a plus.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Strong desire to be a key contributor in an outstanding team of industry-leading professionals.

Skills

• Understanding of the current state of practice for design-build projects preferred.
• Ability to interact well with clients, contractors, client management teams, engineers in other technical disciplines, and the marketing team is essential.

Pay

The projected range for this position is $137,000 - $176,000 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.
