Description
The Pricing Strategist manages the client’s pricing engagement, sets the tone, leads the internal team, and is responsible for delivering a legendary program experience. This role will work closely with all Pricing I/O team members and the client to conduct research, translate findings, turn questions into insightful quantitative and qualitative analysis, and consult with the client on recommendations for monetizing value and accelerating growth strategies.
Responsibilities
- Lead a highly impactful pricing engagement from start to finish.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with executive leaders to surface needs, validate hypotheses, and shape strategy.
- Shape and structure data sets for analysis to uncover areas of opportunity to improve monetization or reduce value leakage.
- Build statistical and analytical models to identify patterns, anomalies, and root causes leading to pricing and packaging recommendations.
- Provide proactive and consistent communications regarding project objectives, status updates, potential barriers, and results to our clients.
- Use AI to make our processes more efficient and create faster, better outputs.
- Design and execute insightful market and customer research surveys to surface insights into price, value, and growth sentiment with survey techniques such as Kano, Conjoint, MaxDiff, Gabor Granger, and Van Westendorp.
- Develop a world-class expertise in pricing for software businesses and share that expertise with clients hungry for insight.
- Walk clients through Currv, our new software tool that helps them make better pricing decisions.
Skills and Experience
- 5+ years of experience in project management, private equity, finance, or consulting services, preferably in high-tech B2B SaaS.
- Involvement in past pricing projects or a strong demonstrated interest in pricing.
- Polished written and verbal communication skills to synthesize information and “tell the story” to help drive monetization strategy and decisions.
- Ability to collaborate within a cross-functional team and deliver high-quality content under tight time constraints while exhibiting a growth mindset.
- Ability to manage client expectations while simultaneously offering a high-touch experience designed to wow our clients.
- Exceptional statistical and other analytical modeling, including data structuring, manipulation, and visualization, particularly with not-so-perfect data sets.
- Detail-oriented.
- Proven track record in SaaS, client management, project management, or pricing strategy.
- Experience working in management consulting, private equity, venture capital, or other high-profile environments.
- Passion for continuous learning and a love for working with data.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or equivalent work experience.
- Business, Economics, or Finance degree preferred.
