Senior Strategic Sourcing Buyer

About the Role

We are seeking a Strategic Sourcing Buyer II or Senior Strategic Sourcing Buyer to support sourcing initiatives, supplier development, and procurement strategy within a growing manufacturing organization. This position is ideal for a sourcing professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys working closely with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Product Development, and Supply Chain teams to drive cost savings, supplier performance, and successful product launches.

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers that meet quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
• Lead sourcing events including RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs.
• Negotiate supplier agreements, pricing, terms, and contracts.
• Develop and execute sourcing and category strategies.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Product Development, Production, and Materials teams on new product introductions.
• Manage Bills of Material (BOMs) and support sourcing activities for new product launches.
• Analyze supplier performance, lead times, costs, and procurement data to drive business decisions.
• Support supplier relationship management, cost reduction initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Utilize ERP/MRP systems, D365, and advanced Excel functionality to support reporting and analysis.
• Present sourcing updates, project status, and KPI performance to leadership.

Requirements

• 5-10+ years of strategic sourcing and procurement experience.
• Deep category management and sourcing expertise.
• Experience leading complex sourcing initiatives and supplier negotiations.
• Strong commercial, contractual, and supplier management experience.
• Ability to lead cross-functional sourcing efforts and mentor less experienced team members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
• Purchasing or Supply Chain certification (preferred).
• Project management experience (preferred).
• HVAC, manufacturing, industrial, or technical product experience (preferred).
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and D365 (preferred).
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and collaborate effectively with technical teams (preferred).
