Senior Stormwater Project Manager
About the role
We are seeking a Senior Stormwater Project Manager to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for directing and coordinating work of single or multidiscipline teams throughout the project's lifecycle, from development & initiation to close-out. Your work will involve large multidiscipline projects or medium-sized projects with high degree of technical complexity.
Responsibilities
- Direct and coordinate work of single or multidiscipline teams throughout the project's lifecycle (from development & initiation to close-out)
- Responsible for all aspects of large multidiscipline projects or medium-sized projects with high degree of technical complexity, involving a large project staff
- Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently
- Establish and maintain client relations, and be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings
- Conduct work sessions for deliverable development in conjunction with other staff and stakeholders
- Cover staffing and workload through entire project life cycle, and ensure completion of deliverables on schedule
- Track financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust work effort with team to ensure that work is completed within parameters of agreed-to budget and schedule
- Implement QA/QC procedures
- Supervise large project staffs and act as mentor for less-experienced Project Managers
- Provide senior technical direction, mentorship, and quality review for multidisciplinary teams delivering stormwater planning, design, modeling, permitting, and construction support services
- Lead and supervise hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, including basin delineation, runoff calculations, conveyance capacity evaluation, detention and flow control sizing, water quality treatment sizing, and flood risk assessment
- Serve as the senior stormwater technical lead for planning, design, analysis, and delivery of drainage, conveyance, flow control, water quality treatment, green stormwater infrastructure, and low impact development projects
- Evaluate existing stormwater infrastructure and develop practical alternatives for capacity improvements, retrofit, replacement, flood mitigation, water quality compliance, and system resiliency
- Prepare and review stormwater technical reports, drainage reports, design calculations, models, specifications, construction documents, permit documents, and agency comment responses
- Perform other duties as needed
Requirements
- Master's degree
- PMP certification
- Washington Professional Engineer license, or ability to obtain Washington PE licensure within 6 months
- 10 or more years of progressive stormwater engineering experience, including technical project management and leadership on transportation, public works, municipal infrastructure, or site development projects
- 10 or more years of experience leading technical delivery across multidisciplinary teams, including coordination with clients, agencies, reviewers, discipline leads, and production staff
- Demonstrated experience applying Washington State, local agency, and Department of Transportation stormwater requirements to drainage design, flow control, water quality treatment, green stormwater infrastructure, permitting, and agency review comments through all stages of a project lifecycle
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- 10 years related experience
- A minimum 5 years project management experience
- Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered
Skills
MS Office and MS Project experience (Access experience would be plus)
Demonstrated leadership, business development and strategic planning skills
