Senior Storage Design Engineer

Role Overview

The Senior Storage Design Engineer assists the Government Lead in the daily engineering duties on systems. Implements and administers networked storage infrastructure and interconnected systems, capacity planning, performance analysis, and design of storage systems. Determines current levels of system and application resource utilization and performance. Constructs analytical models and develops workload projection methodologies to estimate and describe utilization and performance at multiple levels. Utilizes the capacity management tool set to perform workload sizing for new and existing applications. Plans and evaluates storage requirements. Supports the implementation of hardware and software upgrades and analyzes the impact of new technologies on processor and peripheral utilization and performance. Constructs capacity plans, develops capacity reports, oversees storage of capacity and performance data, and conducts capacity management audits. Responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive and scalable systems for enterprise-level organizations. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design system architectures, and develop solutions that optimize business processes and improve operational efficiency. Evaluates emerging technologies, conducts system audits, and provides guidance on best practices for system integration and management.

Specific Skillset

• Provide capacity and performance management, design, configuration, and integration
• Perform Disaster Recovery
• Design, develop, and Integrate Storage Attached Network (SAN) design, configuration, and integration included
• Configure and integrate NetApp Data on Tap 8.x design
• HA/DR solution management
• Data de-duplication, mirroring, and retention
• Design storage devices based on an analysis of capacity use and requirements
• Execute the installation and integration of storage device, system, and components
• Develop, configure, and integrate Virtual Storage Console for VMware
• Perform tasks associated with application networking ports and protocols, Information Assurance (IA), routing, and Local Area Network (LAN)
• Perform storage integration with SQL 2008 r2 and HBSS, and integration and installation on various server hardware

Requirements

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Certified Cisco Network Associate (CCNA)
• CASP+; CISSP; CSSLP; RHCSA
• IASAE II / IAT III

Experience Requirements

• 10 years of relevant IT-related experience

Pay

$105,000 - $125,000

Schedule

• Full-time
• Onsite, up to 10% travel as needed
