Senior Stock Surveillance Analyst
About the role
The Senior Analyst is responsible for monitoring market trading activity, identifying underlying investors, and delivering high-quality client insights. The role partners with clients, the Georgeson Proxy Advisory team, and internal stakeholders to incorporate investor intelligence into client deliverables, while also supporting initiatives to enhance and expand team capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Analyze stock trading activity, public filings, fund disclosures, and DTC settlement reports to identify shareholder movements and underlying investors.
- Monitor market developments, including shareholder activism, M&A activity, ESG trends, and broader stock market events.
- Deliver shareholder and market intelligence to clients through presentations, reports, and client calls.
- Support M&A and shareholder activism engagements through research, analysis, reporting, and business development activities.
- Identify and analyze institutional investor voting trends and outcomes for clients.
- Conduct research, data collection, analysis, and reporting to support stock surveillance engagements.
- Serve as a trusted resource for clients and internal stakeholders on investor intelligence matters.
- Prepare agendas and lead client calls, ensuring high-quality execution and communication.
- Collaborate with the Head of M&A and Activism on strategic projects and assigned initiatives.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of investor vote identification and related deliverables.
Requirements
- 5-10 years of experience in stock surveillance or shareholder identification roles.
- Advanced knowledge of capital markets, shareholder activism, M&A, proxy advisory firms, and investor engagement.
- Proven ability to research, analyze, and interpret institutional investor ownership and trading activity using public and proprietary sources.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Experience working with large datasets and presenting insights in a clear, concise, and actionable manner.
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a resourceful approach to gathering investor intelligence.
- Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and supporting clients across diverse industries and market capitalizations.
- Able to contribute to business growth through client relationship management, cross-selling, and expansion of existing accounts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Prior experience leading projects, mentoring team members, or coordinating client engagements is a plus.

Pay
The typical base pay range for this role is USD $125,000 - $145,000. This salary is specific to the New York, NY, United States and a direct currency conversion will not be representative of salaries in our other global locations. For salaries in other countries please reach out to the talent acquisition partner recruiting for this role.
Schedule
Minimum of three days a week in the New York, NY, United States office with flexibility to work from home for some of your working week.
