Our Automated Driving Teams are looking for a Staff System Architect to shape the development of our system today and into the future. You will understand the needs and priorities of customers and other stakeholders, perform analysis and simulation, identify tradeoffs, derive requirements, and document the system architecture for diverse stakeholders. This is a staff-level position, so leadership and guidance to others within and outside the team is expected.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define functional concepts for Automated Driving Functions.
- Work in agile teams according to SCRUM and Kanban frameworks.
- Support creation of new functional concepts and maintenance of existing functional concepts for driving functions.
- Support decomposition of regulations to atomic requirements (e.g., R157) and analysis of requirement relevance to driving functions.
- Ensure clear documentation for all design decisions.
- Support communication and onboarding of development teams on architecture and systems engineering process, methods, and tools and their evolution over time.
- Support impact analysis and review of proposed processes and process updates.
- Support change request and problem report impact analysis and estimation.
- Assist in review and categorization of stakeholder needs.
- Assist in review and alignment of system requirements that impact multiple customer functions.
- Lead definition and monitoring of architecture KPIs.
- Lead automation of consistency checks of system architecture as well as between system architecture artifacts (and between system and SW artifacts).
- Lead creation and maintenance of cross-workstream architecture artifacts as well as architectural views for diverse stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
- OR Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
- OR PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in engineering.
- Experience in Feature Development in ADAS/AD Area.
- Advanced System and requirement engineering skills, with proven experience in defining solutions on system and SW levels.
- Solid understanding of ISO26262, ISO21434, ISO21448 and their application to automated driving.
- Experience in SysML modeling tools like MagicDraw and Enterprise Architect.
- Experience with agile methodologies in a cross-functional team is a plus.
- Professional experience with C++, Python, or similar programming languages is a plus.
- A mindset of challenging the status quo and finding creative ways to do things.
- Prior experience with concept-level analysis and architecture development for systems including both machine-learning and rule-based algorithms.

- Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey complex information.
- May require negotiation, influence, tact, etc.
- Has a moderate amount of influence over key organizational decisions (e.g., is consulted by senior leadership to make key decisions).
- Tasks do not have defined steps; planning, problem-solving, and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively.
Pay
$100,200.00 - $150,200.00
