Senior Staff Software Engineer - Frontend Platform (Machine Identity Management)
About the role
CyberArk, a Palo Alto Networks company, is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join our Machine Identity Management team. This role involves leading the design and architecture of scalable frontend systems supporting machine identity workflows and control plane experiences. The candidate will define and evolve frontend platform standards, patterns, and reusable components across the organization, build and optimize data-intensive interfaces reflecting real-time system state and complex distributed workflows, and translate complex technical systems into intuitive, high-clarity user experiences.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and architecture of scalable frontend systems supporting machine identity workflows and control plane experiences
- Define and evolve frontend platform standards, patterns, and reusable components across the organization
- Build and optimize data-intensive interfaces that reflect real-time system state and complex distributed workflows
- Partner with backend and platform teams to shape API design, data contracts, and system interactions
- Translate complex system behavior into clear, usable UI
- Drive frontend performance strategy, including state management, rendering efficiency, and data handling at scale
- Establish and improve frontend development practices, testing strategies, and CI/CD workflows
- Act as a technical leader and mentor, influencing frontend direction across teams
Requirements
- 8+ years of frontend or full-stack software development experience
- Strong experience building modern frontend applications using React and TypeScript
- Deep understanding of frontend architecture, including state management, performance optimization, and component design
- Experience building data-intensive, workflow-driven, or control plane user interfaces
- Experience working with distributed systems (consuming complex backend services and APIs)
- Proven ability to drive technical direction and influence across teams
- Strong collaboration skills across engineering, product, and design
Qualifications
- Nice to have: Experience with GraphQL and modern API patterns, exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), familiarity with identity or security-related systems (PKI, certificates, authentication)
Skills
- Experience with React and TypeScript
- Understanding of frontend architecture, including state management, performance optimization, and component design
- Experience building data-intensive, workflow-driven, or control plane user interfaces
- Experience working with distributed systems (consuming complex backend services and APIs)

Pay
$147,000.00 - $237,500.00/yr
Schedule
This role is based full-time in the office, with flexibility when needed.
