About the role

As a Front End Engineer at Abridge, you’ll play a key role in technology decisions and implementation, directly impacting healthcare through scalable React/TypeScript applications. You’ll work across our stack, set standards for accessibility and design systems, and enhance existing systems for performance, stability, and security. With a user-centric mindset, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor peers, and advocate for high-quality engineering practices in a fast-moving startup environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and support easy-to-use React/TypeScript applications to scale our business
• Set and implement standards for accessibility and design system use
• Make technology decisions that balance business needs with security, privacy, and quality
• Enhance existing systems to add new functionality and improve performance, stability, quality, and security
• Advocate for high standards, make quality-of-life improvements to the codebase, and help limit technical debt
• Build deep user empathy and maintain a user-centric mindset
• Communicate regularly and effectively within and across cross-functional product delivery teams (design, product, machine learning, infrastructure)
• Mentor and learn from other engineers while contributing to projects across the company
• Work with autonomy and self-direction while collaborating effectively in a team environment
• Pitch in wherever needed to deliver high-quality work quickly

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience building, shipping, and supporting web applications, including 5+ years with React
• Experience independently delivering a small web app or entire feature in a larger web app
• Excitement about working in our mobile tech stack (React, TypeScript, and potentially Electron)
• Comfort working across domains and languages with a curiosity to experiment and learn new things
• Deep expertise in using AI tools to accelerate engineering workflows (2+ years of hands-on experience)

Nice-to-have skills

• Experience with audio playback, audio recording, file encryption, or online vs. offline mode support on web

Pay

Compensation range: $218,000 – $250,000
