About the role
This role reports to our Chief Security Officer and is based in San Jose, CA. It is a fully on-site, in-office position requiring 5 days a week.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze cyber security events using Splunk (SIEM), SOAR, IDS, XDR, McAfee antivirus, and other tools.
- Perform true and false positive log line analysis with a high degree of accuracy from multiple IT systems.
- Triage security events and incidents, detect anomalies, and report remediation actions.
- Execute SOC procedures and ensure completeness of incident information.
- Escalate incidents to senior members in the SOC team when relevant.
- Demonstrate excellent professional customer service skills for reporting, alerting, and escalating events to stakeholders.
- Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity tools and keep the team informed about emerging cyber threats.
- Maintain, manage, improve, and update security incident process and protocol documentation (Run Book).
- Exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills to drive work as part of a team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (Engineering & Technology desired), Management of Information Systems, Computer Security, or equivalent.
- Basic understanding of malwares, CIA triad, Cyber Kill chain, and networking.
- Basic knowledge of Information Security, network devices, security devices, server security, and application security.
- Keen interest in learning new security technologies and understanding how security operates.
- Desire to enter the information security field and develop expertise in that direction.
- Well-developed logical thinking capabilities for investigating cases.
- Ability to work in a shift schedule.
- Excellent social, communication, and writing skills.
- 12+ years of relevant experience.
Qualifications
- Formal cybersecurity training or certifications in relevant fields, including incident response, is a plus.

Pay
Salary range: $178,800.00 - $257,200.00. The total compensation for this full-time role includes standard company benefits and is based on relevant skills and experience.
