About the role
Google Quantum AI's mission is to build a large-scale computer capable of complex, error-corrected computations. This role involves being a senior researcher on the quantum error correction team, exploring research directions including quantum LDPC codes and compact circuits for non-clifford gates.
Responsibilities
- Develop new quantum codes that achieve high encoding rate, high distance, or favorable layout in hardware.
- Develop new constructions for non-clifford logical gates.
- Analyze fault-tolerant circuits for syndrome measurement and logical operations.
Requirements
- PhD or equivalent experience in a domain relevant to quantum computing, such as math, physics, computer science, or electrical engineering.
- 10 years of experience in quantum computing research.
- Research publications in quantum error correction.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in working with quantum error correction experiments.
- Experience writing software to simulate and study quantum error correction.
- Research publications in quantum LDPC codes, compiling fault-tolerant algorithms, and circuits for non-clifford gates.
Benefits
Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. US: $262000 - $365000 (USD) + 25% bonus target + equity + benefits
