Senior Staff Research Scientist

About the role

The Department of Cell Biology is seeking a Senior Staff Research Scientist to manage microscopy equipment in a core facility setting and oversee the distribution of microscopy resources for projects spanning days to weeks. The selected candidate will utilize their knowledge of microscopic applications to support biomedical research.

Responsibilities

• Manage microscopy equipment in a core facility setting
• Oversight of the distribution of microscopy resources for projects spanning days to weeks
• Utilize knowledge of microscopic applications to support biomedical research
• Experience in fluorescence microscopy and confocal microscopy preferred
• Familiarity with super-resolution microscopy is recommended
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students
• Promote learning and teaching state-of-the-art microscopic techniques relevant to modern biomedical research

Requirements

• Ph.D. or M.D. with 36 months postdoctoral research fellow experience plus 24 months experience as a professional Scientist in a research laboratory environment

Qualifications

Strong written and oral communication skills, proven ability to work effectively within a team environment, and professional interaction with faculty, staff, and students are essential.

Pay

Targeted salary range of $78,800 - $104,400 dependent on qualifications and experience.

Schedule

Monday – Friday, Standard/Fixed Schedule.
