Senior Staff R&D Informatics Lead
Key Responsibilities
- Lead scientific informatics efforts spanning Research to Clinical, including both exploratory and GxP data.
- Lead and manage the full range of activities to implement both COTS and bespoke systems.
- Own R&D systems; maintain a backlog, track usage, technical debt, spend and the evolving value proposition of each system.
- Develop pipelines, data structures and custom apps in AWS and Databricks (either alone or in conjunction with a team) to meet a wide variety of scientific and operational needs in R&D.
- Use an AI-forward approach to everything from project management to business analysis to coding and system support while applying appropriate judgement to filter out noise.
- Collaborate with scientists on their terms; translate complex informatics and scientific topics seamlessly back and forth across domains.
- Lead or Participate in GXP validation activities as necessary.
Required Skills, Experience and Education
- BS/MS/Ph.D. in Biology, Chemistry or Computer Science.
- 10+ years of experience developing software tools supporting the drug, vaccine or medical device industries.
- Strong understanding of R&D data types, models, standards and analytical workflows in Research, Translational and Clinical groups.
- Rare ability to code switch between Biology/Chemistry and computer science and lead efforts that span both domains.
- Excellent collaboration and teamwork skills.
- Development informatics including business analysis and coding.
- Experience with AWS (or Azure/GCP) and Databricks.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with GLP or GCP regulations and 21 CFR Part 11.
- Hands-on experience building pipelines, dashboards and applications using AI-forward development best practices.
Pay & Benefits
The base pay salary range for this full-time position for candidates working onsite at our headquarters in Redwood City, CA is $186,000 - $233,000 USD.
