About the role
Suncoast Hospice, a part of Empath Health, is seeking a caring and motivated Senior Staff RN to support the home team in North Pinellas County.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates the nursing component of care on the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT).
- Provides coverage/assistance to team members as needed based on patient acuity to ensure continuity of care.
- Affirms assignments and redistributes nursing caseloads as needed.
- Coordinates team staffing needs with the Care Team Manager, other teams, and additional staffing resources.
- Assists the Care Team Manager with coordinating the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) weekly meeting.
- Collaborates with the Care Team Manager to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate team goals and support staff.
- Coordinates the Team's responsibility for providing 24/7 patient care.
- Involves planning nursing back-up and on-call persons as necessary to ensure quality and continuity of patient/family care.
- Reviews and approves staff time sheets and patient care documentation as assigned.
- Affirms compliance with all organizational standards including productivity, timeliness, and adherence to documentation guidelines.
- Periodic chart audits are conducted to ensure compliance with organizational standards, state, and federal regulations, and accreditation requirements.
Requirements
- Education and/or Experience: Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Licensure: Valid Florida license as a Registered Nurse and valid Florida State Driver’s License.
- Continuing education: As required for licensure.
- Certifications: Valid CPR certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
- Strong preference for at least one (1) year supervisory experience.
- Strong preference for minimum of two (2) years Hospice experience.
- Strong computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
- Experience: One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Licensure: Valid Florida license as a Registered Nurse.
- Certifications: Valid CPR certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
Skills
- Strong preference for at least one (1) year supervisory experience.
- Strong preference for minimum of two (2) years Hospice experience.
- Strong computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Pay
