Senior Staff Mobile Software Architect (Hybrid - San Diego, CA)
Job Summary
We are seeking a self-motivated Senior Staff Mobile Software Architect to join the Medical Device Architecture team. This individual will be responsible for designing and supporting mobile software architecture for Insulet products.
Responsibilities
- Designs and documents mobile software architecture for new and existing Insulet products.
- Ensures designs comply with Company policies and are appropriate for medical product design and maintenance.
- Collaborates with Software, Quality, Regulatory, Marketing, and Manufacturing teams to ensure designs meet technical, regulatory, and manufacturing requirements.
- Works closely with other architects, systems, software, and hardware engineers to design software systems.
- Participates in technical design and product design reviews.
- Mentors junior engineers as needed.
- Performs other duties as required.
Education And Experience
- Bachelor's degree in software engineering or equivalent with 10+ years of relevant work experience.
Minimum Requirements
- Strong programming skills in Kotlin, Swift, Dart, and Java.
- Strong understanding of MVP, MVVM, and MVI architectural patterns.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on experience with Flutter or Compose Multiplatform.
- Hands-on experience building and supporting Android and iOS applications.
- Familiarity with RESTful network communication and APIs.
- Familiarity with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and related platform APIs.
- Familiarity with mobile security best practices, attestation, encryption, and authentication.
Preferred Skills And Competencies
- Demonstrated working knowledge of mobile software development and architecture.
- Medical device experience preferred.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Detail-oriented, strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to communicate effectively at various organizational levels.
- Ability to leverage creativity to overcome obstacles and work with urgency.
- Strong software engineering development skills.
- Experience with Agile or other software development lifecycle concepts is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits
For U.S.-based positions, the annual base salary range for this role is $167,200.00 - $250,750.00. This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including:
