Responsibilities
- Support the planning, design, and execution of municipal infrastructure projects, including roadway improvements, drainage systems, water distribution, sanitary sewer systems, and capital improvement programs
- Perform engineering calculations and assist in the preparation of technical specifications, reports, and construction documents
- Develop plans, profiles, and details using design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D under the guidance of senior staff
- Cook up with project managers and team members to support timely and efficient project delivery
- Aid in permit applications and coordinate with municipal clients, regulatory agencies, and utility providers
- Review shop drawings, RFIs, and contractor submittals with oversight from senior engineers
- Provide construction support services, including responding to field inquiries and participating in site visits as needed
- Attend project meetings and assist with documentation of key decisions and action items
- Support the preparation of cost estimates, schedules, and project budgets
- Ensure work is performed in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and agency requirements
- Contribute to a collaborative team environment and actively participate in professional development opportunities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- 2–4 years of relevant experience in municipal engineering or public infrastructure projects
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred (or ability to obtain)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite
- Basic understanding of municipal design standards and permitting processes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed

Pay
The projected compensation range for this position is $75,000 to $90,000. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as experience, education and skill set.
