About the Role

Johnson Controls is hiring a Senior Staff Electronic Systems Engineer to provide technical support to the global Product Technical Support Tier I, II, & VI teams and the Field Sales & Service organization to resolve complex technical issues. This position is remote for candidates in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for the New Product Introduction (NPI) team and create and maintain instructional literature.
  • Offer day-to-day technical support for key accounts to the Field Sales & Service organization on a global basis via site visits, phone, fax, or email.
  • Provide technical support for Product Technical Support (PTS) Tiers II and VI primarily on a global basis via site visits, phone, fax, or email.
  • Create and maintain technical service bulletins, service letters, and collaborate with the publishing team in Cork, Ireland.
  • Drive product reliability through the Continuous Improvement Process for both existing and new products.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide technical support and interact with the quality team and engineering to improve overall lifecycle cost.
  • Assist in developing test plans to validate new and existing product equipment offerings.
  • Maintain effectiveness when experiencing major changes in work responsibilities or environment.
  • Develop novel solutions with measurable value for existing and potential customers, leveraging technology and collaboration.
  • Prioritize the customer’s perspective when making decisions and implementing service practices.
  • Identify and understand problems and opportunities by analyzing quantitative and qualitative information to make timely, informed decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience with power electronics.
  • Experience with starters and variable speed drives.
  • Ability to analyze and solve complex product power electronic problems.
  • Experience in creating and maintaining technical documents, manuals, or similar.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with power electronics associated with HVAC&R products.

Pay

Hiring salary range: $115,000 - $150,000. Salary is determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, location, and market alignment.
