Job Summary

Attalon, Inc. is seeking a Senior Staff Contracts Manager to join its Legal Department and oversee all aspects of the contracting workflow for its specialty custom optics segment. This role requires proactive collaboration with business unit management, corporate finance, supply chain, and other cross-functional teams, given the company's focus on aerospace and defense markets.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal subject matter experts to develop efficient business processes for collecting and reviewing legal and financial inputs, distributing tasks, and tracking the process.
  • Develop and manage internal and external processes to ensure smooth transitions throughout the contract lifecycle.
  • Direct the work of other contracts team members and manage customer interfaces if the program manager or opportunity owner is unavailable.
  • Develop business processes and ensure compliance for the management of the complete contracting life cycle for external customer sales and procurement contracts.
  • Review and process complete sales packages, including all required documents, requests for quotations, statements of work, sales contracts, purchase orders, tax status forms, reps and cert, and other supporting documents.
  • Manage the formal contractual customer interface for all customer requests.
  • Propose and coordinate customer-facing project-based messaging in coordination with the Project Manager or Opportunity Owner and act as an advocate for the business in contractual negotiations.
  • Ensure contract compliance for all business pursuits, including adherence to FAR/DFARS requirements and export controls.
  • Advise on A&D contractual requirements and assist or lead in customer negotiations.
  • Define, develop, and implement policies and procedures for adequate contract controls and services, including contract records management and reporting.
  • Refer sensitive matters for executive decision-making and maintain awareness of changes to FAR, DFAR, ITAR, EAR, and other applicable government regulations.

Skills

  • Subject matter expert of commercial contract law and Government contracting, including FARs, DFARs, and other federal procurement regulations.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for generating positive business outcomes relating to the sales contracting process.
  • Motivated leader capable of helping others solve complex issues through motivation, mediation, and negotiation.
  • Unassailable commitment to personal and business integrity and ethics, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, and other modern information technology applications.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS/MS or equivalent degree in a relevant field.
  • 6+ years of experience working with government contracts and subcontracts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience working with government contracts and subcontracts.
  • Experience directly negotiating with or on behalf of Federal Contracting Offices.
  • Experience with complex FAR/DFARs compliance, including CAS compliance, CMMC compliance, and/or managing government furnished property requirements.
