About the role
Langan is seeking a Senior Highway / Roadway Engineer to join its collaborative team in Austin, Texas. This individual will serve a key function in the engineering design of highways, freeways, and local roads for diversified transportation projects across the Southeast and across the country. In this role, you will have the opportunity to assist with the design and permitting of traffic/transportation engineering and infrastructure projects in a cross-disciplinary learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Geometric designs of highways, freeways, and local roads using national and local codes;
- Concept layout and preliminary design of roads;
- Preparation of construction plans;
- Preparation of Traffic Signalization drawings and plans;
- Design of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) improvements;
- Design of roadway drainage networks and preparation of stormwater management plans;
- Construction specifications review and estimating of costs and quantities;
- Preparation of Maintenance and Protection of Traffic Plans (MPT);
- Use engineering equipment and design software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, Guidesign, AutoTURN, etc.) to prepare engineering and design documents;
- Complete ADA inspections of constructed facilities; and
- Perform other duties as requested.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering;
- 6+ years of work-related experience;
- EIT certification, PE preferred;
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities;
- Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment; and
- Possess reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits and a valid driver’s license in good standing.
