Senior Staff AI Security Lead

About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Staff AI Security Lead to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space. This senior role will shape how AI is securely adopted across the security organization, with a focus on building practical foundations that enable safe, scalable use of advanced models. You will partner closely with security, engineering, and executive stakeholders to define standards, evaluate risk, and drive adoption of high-value AI capabilities. The role combines hands-on technical depth with influence and education to help teams apply AI effectively while maintaining strong security controls. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Responsibilities

• Design and build enterprise AI infrastructure for security teams
• Establish reusable components for agentic workflows and secure execution
• Connect security knowledge to AI systems through well-governed data pipelines
• Develop evaluation metrics and observability for AI system performance
• Implement security measures against AI-related risks and vulnerabilities
• Create internal documentation and standards to streamline AI application development
• Identify and promote high-impact AI use cases across the security organization

Qualifications

• 8+ years in security engineering or platform engineering with hands-on software development experience
• Proven track record of building and operating production systems with large language models
• Strong software engineering skills, particularly in Python or similar languages, with knowledge of API design and cloud infrastructure
• Deep understanding of security engineering principles, including identity management and secure software practices
• Familiarity with AI-specific risks and practical mitigation strategies
• Experience driving technical change through influence, consensus-building, and education
• Excellent communication skills, able to convey technical concepts to both engineers and executives
• Sound judgment regarding the practical applications of AI in security

Pay

$180,000 – $225,000 annually
