About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Tax Accountant to join a growing Wealth Management and CPA firm. This role plays a critical part in managing and overseeing tax planning, compliance, and financial reporting for a diverse client base. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to provide strategic financial guidance while maintaining compliance with all applicable tax regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Tax Preparation & Review
    • Prepare and review complex federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts.
    • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.
  • Financial Reporting & Planning
    • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements.
    • Aid in strategic financial planning and provide insights to support client financial goals.
  • Team Leadership & Mentorship
    • Guide and mentor staff accountants in preparing financial statements and tax filings.
    • Foster a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment.
  • Tax Planning & Advisory
    • Develop proactive tax planning strategies to optimize client tax positions.
    • Stay current on tax law changes and advise clients accordingly.
  • Client Relationship Management
    • Build and maintain strong client relationships.
    • Serve as a trusted advisor for tax, accounting, and financial planning matters.
  • Compliance & Audit Support
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements.
    • Assist with audits and communications with tax authorities as needed.

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
    • Master's degree preferred.
  • Certifications:
    • CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax accounting, with a focus on corporate taxation.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
    • Experience with UltraTax, QuickBooks, Thomson Reuters CS Professional Suite / UltraTax, Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Additional Skills:
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
    • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
