Senior Staff Accountant

About the role

We are currently seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join our corporate team at TPG Hotels, Resorts & Marinas located in McKinney, TX. This position will be based at the corporate headquarters in McKinney, TX. Our Senior Staff Accountants are a vital part of the service delivery to our hotel locations. This role will work with a portfolio of hotel locations to deliver the following:

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial P&L statements for assigned portfolio of hotels.
• Input and verify data in cloud-based hospitality specific accounting software (M3)
• Prepare general ledger entries by maintaining records and files.
• Prepare multiple complex bank reconciliations.
• Accrue expenses and request disbursements.
• Process weekly AP check runs.
• Prepare weekly cash positions.
• Maintain balance sheet reconciliations monthly.
• Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
• Complete monthly closing cycle and prepare financials for multiple accounts.
• Protect organization's value by maintaining confidentiality of data and information.

Requirements

• Excellent written and oral communication skills. This position has direct contact with owners, upper management, operations, and property general managers.
• Ability to multi-task and comfortable working in a fast paced and ever-changing environment.
• Proficient with prepaid and accrual schedules.
• Organized with a keen attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Demonstrate the ability to adhere to deadlines and checklists.
• Demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Highly self-motivated.
• NOTE: This position is driven by contractual deadlines – time off is restrictive based on monthly closing periods.
