Senior Staff Accountant

About the role

Stash Ventures LLC is looking for a diligent senior staff accountant to join our accounting department. The ideal candidate will manage the accounting operations, reconcile accounts, finalize financial reports, and provide strategic recommendations to prevent overspending and increase efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate financial statements, including reconciliation of accounts, calculation of accruals, and research of discrepancies.
• Review, analyze, and reconcile general ledger accounts and banking transactions, preparing monthly reports for management.
• Maintain financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts.
• Prepare journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations, and assist with monthly closing processes.
• Contribute to the development and review of annual operating budgets and performance projections.
• Manage accounts payable, purchasing, and treasury, conducting internal audits.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, meeting processing and reporting deadlines.
• Respond to information requests, review financial statements, and assist with audits.
• Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Manage weekly checks/ACHs and record them into accounting software programs.
• Aid in the preparation for annual audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
• Three to five years of general accounting experience is required.
• Three to five years of experience with accounts receivable and accounts payable is required.
• Strong computer aptitude, including expertise with Microsoft Excel and Word, and applicable accounting software.
• Excellent analytical skills and strong knowledge of accounting principles are required.
• Ability to maintain high levels of accuracy in preparing and entering financial data.
• Preferred experience with Metrc, QuickBooks, and LeafLink.
• Prior cannabis and manufacturing accounting experience is preferred.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented.
